DELE SOSIMI AFROBEAT ORCHESTRA
DELE SOSIMI AFROBEAT ORCHESTRA
In the hands of Dele Sosimi, AFROBEAT - the fusion of heavy African rhythms with the deepest funk grooves and jazz style musicianship - undergoes a thorough re-working and updating for the 21st century. He started out as a musical director/member in Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 and Femi Kuti’s Positive Force. Then Dele formed his own band, a group which reflects London’s multicultural environment with a strong influence of jazz, shades of deep funk and Latin music-all underpinned by the heavy grooves of Afrobeat and Dele’s vocals.
